The Century Surfmachine series of rods are designed with distance casting in mind. These rods are derived from C-2D concept surf rods, and the stiffest portion of the rod is underneath the reel seat. This makes the rod act similarly to a longbow under load, when casting and fighting fish. The tip portion of the rod is a more moderate action, allowing the anglers with all different experience levels to obtain the distance these rods have the potential to throw, as the rod does the work for you. Its more supple tip also assists with bite detection and working plugs.
